Mother's Day in Peterborough: Three Ways to Give Mom an Hour of Quiet

It's hard to think of anyone who gives more than moms do. Their days are full of care for other people, time, thoughts, energy, and attention, all spent looking after everyone else.

So when Mother's Day rolls around, it's more than a date on the calendar. It's a chance to slow down, notice what she does, and give a little of it back.

And sometimes the best gift isn't a thing. It's a moment to breathe. To exhale. To feel supported and taken care of.

That's what we built this year's Mother's Day packages around at Flow Spa. Three options, depending on how you want to spoil her, all available until May 10.

Why a Wellness Gift Lands Differently

Most moms we see at Flow Spa are running on a thin margin. The mental load doesn't take Mother's Day off, and "relaxing" at home usually means relaxing within earshot of someone who needs something.

A spa gift solves a different problem. It hands her a few hours where the only thing on her plate is her own nervous system. Many people find that a single float, sauna session, or massage gives them a noticeably calmer week afterward, not just a calm afternoon.

That's the part that lasts. And it's the part she'll remember when next Mother's Day rolls around.

🌊 The Float Package - $129

Two 60-minute floats. No staffing limit. Always available.

Floating is 60 minutes in a sensory-deprivation pod filled with body-temperature water and roughly 1,000 pounds of Epsom salt. No phone. No noise. No light, unless she wants it. Just her, floating effortlessly, with nothing pulling at her attention.

The Float Package gives her two of those hours for $129. She can do them back-to-back with a friend, space them out across a stressful month, or save them for the weeks she actually needs them most.

Best for:

  • The mom who never gets a quiet minute

  • The mom who says she "can't shut her brain off."

  • Anyone curious about floating but hesitant to book their first session

If she's never floated before, the About Floating page walks through what to expect, so she'll feel prepared instead of nervous walking in.

💆‍♀️ The Relax Package - $165

A 60-minute float plus a 60-minute massage. Limited spots.

This is our most-requested Mother's Day gift every year, and the one that books up first. A 60-minute registered massage paired with a 60-minute float, back-to-back, in a single quiet afternoon. The massage unlocks the body. The float lets it stay unlocked.

Because it's two rooms and two practitioners per booking, we can only run a set number of these per week. Mother's Day weekend fills up first, so if this is the one calling your name, grab it early.

We can also provide you with the massage receipts issued by the Registered Massage Therapist who provided the massage treatment, which may be reimbursable through her extended health benefits if she has them.

Best for:

  • The mom who carries her stress in her shoulders

  • The mom who's been saying she needs a massage for the last three years

  • Anyone who wants the most-loved combo with the least decision fatigue

💖 The Signature Package - $189

Float, massage, and infrared sauna. Limited availability.

This is the full Flow Spa reset, three modalities stacked in the order that works best. Massage first to release the body. Float second to let the system settle. Infrared sauna last to leave her warm, loose, and ready for the best sleep she's had in months.

It's the package we built for the mom who genuinely never stops, the group-chat organizer, the family scheduler, the person who remembered everyone else's Mother's Day before her own. A single treatment isn't going to cut it for her. Three is the move.

Spots are limited, and Mother's Day weekend tends to go first.

Best for:

  • The mom who never stops

  • Treating the woman in your life to a head-to-toe reset

  • Multi-generational gifts (mom and adult daughter going in together)

Gift Card Logistics

A few quick notes so nothing falls through the cracks:

  1. Gift cards are available in-person or digitally and can be delivered instantly to her email (or yours) the moment you check out. No shipping, no last-minute store runs.

  2. You can schedule the delivery for Sunday, May 10, if you want the surprise to land that morning.

  3. Gift cards never expire. She can book Mother's Day weekend, or save them for a tougher week down the road.

  4. Booking a specific service slot for her (rather than gifting the package) can be done by phone or online. Mother's Day weekend slots fill fast. Some services are already booked up.

  5. The sale runs until midnight on May 10. After that, packages return to regular pricing.

If you want help picking the right one, the team at Flow Spa is happy to walk you through it. A quick call, DM, or message, and we'll point you to the gift that fits her best.

Which One Should You Pick?

A quick decision shortcut:

  • She just needs to switch her brain off → The Float Package ($129)

  • She holds tension in her body and needs hands-on work → The Relax Package ($165)

  • She's been running on empty for months and needs the full reset → The Signature Package ($189)

  • You genuinely don't know which she'd pick → The Float Package; it's the most flexible, and she can always upgrade in-spa or add on a massage for when she wants to come in.

The Gift Mom Actually Wants

Most moms aren't asking for more stuff. They're asking, quietly, for a few hours where nobody needs anything from them.

A spa gift gives her exactly that. And it gives her a reset she can carry into the rest of the year.
