美肌道
Hadado: “the way to beautiful skin”
What is Hadado facial massage?
Hadado (美肌道) roughly translates to “the way to beautiful skin.” It's an advanced Japanese facial massage method that builds on traditional Japanese face massage, known as Kobido, and adds modern myofascial and lymphatic techniques.
It's often called a natural facelift. That's a big promise, so here's what's actually happening: a Hadado treatment works on the deeper layers of your face, where tight muscles, stuck fascia and trapped fluid can pull your features down and make you look more tired than you feel.
Each session blends five techniques
- Myofascial releaseto soften tight connective tissue in the face, jaw and neck
- Lymphatic drainagea lymphatic drainage facial, to move excess fluid and reduce puffiness
- Deep tissue workon the muscles that create expression lines
- Lifting and sculptingstrokes along the cheeks, jawline and brow
- Acupressureon key points to calm the nervous system
Why your face holds more tension than you think
Squinting at screens, clenching through a stressful meeting, grinding your teeth at night: it adds up.
Your face has dozens of small muscles, and most of us use them all day without a break.
Over time, that tension can show up as deeper frown lines, a tight jaw, tension headaches and a face that looks heavier or more tired than you feel. Hadado works directly on those patterns, so many people notice they feel different in their face before they see the change in the mirror.
What Hadado may help with
Everyone's face is different, and results build over a series of sessions. Many clients find Hadado helps with:
Fine lines and expression lines
Especially around the forehead, brow and mouth.
Facial contour
A more defined jawline and cheekbones.
Puffiness
Particularly around the eyes and lower face.
Dull or tired-looking skin
Thanks to improved circulation.
Jaw tension and clenching
Including discomfort linked to TMJ and teeth grinding. For jaw pain on its own, see our TMJ massage page.
Stress
A 75 or 90-minute session focused on your face, neck and scalp is deeply relaxing.
A natural, non-invasive anti-aging treatment
Hadado is a good fit if you want to look refreshed without injectables, or if you'd like a hands-on treatment that complements the skincare and aesthetic treatments you already use.
There are no needles and no recovery time. Your skin may look a little flushed right after your session, which usually settles quickly, and most people walk out looking brighter and feeling lighter.
No needles.
No recovery time.

Buccal massage in Peterborough
Some of the muscles that shape your cheeks and jaw, like the masseter and buccinator, are easiest to reach from inside the mouth. With gloved hands, Mason can gently work these areas to release deep jaw tension and support a more sculpted contour.
Intraoral work is completely optional. Mason will explain it and ask before including it, and you can skip it or stop at any point. You'll still get a full Hadado treatment without it.
How many Hadado sessions do you need?
Think of Hadado like training: one session feels great, and a consistent series is where the lasting changes happen.
Starting out: 1 to 2 sessions per week for your first 4 treatments. Maintenance: about once a month to hold your results. Mason will help you plan a schedule that fits your goals and your calendar.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Both come from Japanese facial massage traditions. Kobido focuses on fast, rhythmic lifting and circulation. Hadado builds on it with deeper fascia release, lymphatic work and optional buccal techniques, so it works on more layers of the face.
-
It can soften the look of fine lines and expression lines by releasing the muscle tension that deepens them and boosting circulation to the skin. It won't erase deep wrinkles the way a surgical procedure might, but many people find a series of sessions makes a visible difference to how fresh and lifted their face looks.
-
Most people see a brighter, less puffy face right after their first session. Longer-lasting changes in contour and lines build over the first 4 sessions, then monthly maintenance helps hold them.
-
Facial massage can't replace lost skin structure the way surgery does, but it can make your face look more lifted. Releasing tight muscles, draining puffiness and improving circulation often leaves the jawline and cheeks looking more defined, especially over a series of sessions.
-
No. Intraoral massage is optional and only included if you're comfortable with it. Mason will always ask first.
-
Buccal massage reaches muscles like the masseter and buccinator that are hard to release from outside the face, so many people notice a looser jaw and a more defined cheek and jawline afterward. Research on buccal massage specifically is limited, so think of it as a way to release tension and support contour, not a substitute for a medical procedure.
-
It shouldn't be. Tight jaw muscles can feel tender, similar to deep tissue work, and Mason adjusts pressure as he goes. You can ask him to ease off or stop at any time.
-
Your face may look a little flushed, and your jaw may feel tender for a day, much like after a deep massage. Bruising is uncommon. Tell us about recent dental work, injectables or cold sores so Mason can plan around them.
-
Usually, yes, with some timing. As a general guide, wait at least 2 weeks after Botox, at least 1 month after fillers, and 6 months after thread lifts, and follow your injector's advice. Let us know when you book so Mason can adjust around treated areas.
-
Yes. A float session before or after is a lovely way to extend the relaxation, and the $15 face and buccal add-on lets you fold facial work into a regular massage.
-
Mason is a Registered Massage Therapist, so your Hadado session comes with an RMT receipt you can submit to your extended health plan, or we can directly bill to your insurance. Coverage varies by plan, so check your massage therapy benefits before you book.
