Advanced Certifications and Modalities:
GUA SHA:
Gua Sha uses stainless steel tools to provide targeted tissue treatments that a therapist’s fingers alone cannot manipulate. It is said to ensure a better blood supply and proper nerve conduction so that everything is moving through your body as it should.
The numerous benefits of Gua Sha include: it may resolve spasms and pain, promote normal circulation to the muscles, tissues and organs. Unlike Graston therapy, Gua Sha is a more gentle approach to using similar tools and does not result in the same bruising.
CUPPING:
Is a type of alternative therapy that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. This suction is thought to improve the flow of energy in the body and facilitate healing.
Cupping increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. This may relieve muscle tension, which can improve overall blood flow and promote cell repair. It may also help form new connective tissues and create new blood vessels in the tissue.
Any discoloration or marks from cupping usually go away within 7 days of the session.
ATHLETIC TAPING:
Taping can be used to provide additional support and stability around injured or sore joints and muscles. While it’s commonly used with athletes, taping can be used to help with injuries and recovery in anyone when it is suitable.
